The City’s Parks and Recreation Commission has a goal of identifying potential neighborhood dog parks to support residents’ desires to allow their pets to run off leash and to discourage dogs being taken off leash in general areas of parks. The first site identified by the Commission is at Diana Park. However, after discussion with the neighborhood the Parks and Recreation Commission has determined the site is not best suited for the potential off leash dog park. City staff and the Commission are working on an alternative off leash area near the Diana neighborhood.
Prior to any trial dog park areas being opened the City will conduct outreach to the nearby neighbors. Additionally, residents can provide comments online at the City website. Positive or negative, we want your comments
