Voices Charter School

The project proposal, Voices Charter School (also referred to as Monterey - Voices), is a request for an amendment (AAE2023-0001) to a previously approved Design Permit (SR2019-0032).  The Development Site would include a development of a kindergarten through eighth (K-8) public charter school. At full build-out the proposed public charter school would serve up to 504 students and include 51 employees. The proposed public charter school would include development of a 28,450-square foot school campus including four one-story school-buildings, an uncovered parking lot, a playground area, a lunch shelter, trash enclosure, and associated improvements. Access to the project site would be provided by a new 24-foot driveway off Cosmo Avenue connecting to the proposed parking lot at the northwestern portion of the site. In addition, the project would include a separate emergency vehicle access driveway off Monterey Road at the northeast portion of the site. Previously approved entitlements include Environmental Assessment (EA20018-0024), a Conditional User Permit (UP2018-0015), and a Design Permit Approval (SR2019-0032).


The project site is located on a 2.02-acre vacant parcel, North of Cosmo Avenue and West of Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, California. Assessor's Parcel Number: 767-17-047.

A notice of pending action is to advise the public that the Morgan Hill Development Services Department received a request to amend the previously approved Design Permit. The Development Services Department shall hold a public hearing on the application only upon receiving a written request for a public hearing. In order to be considered in the Administrative Review and Decision process, your letter or email must be received by the Development Services Department no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 9, 2023.
