Design Your Own Water-Wise Landscape

Cut Landscape Water Use

By using water-efficient gardening techniques, you can create a beautiful garden while cutting landscape water use 20% to 80%. Whether you are planting a new landscape or renovating an established one, the city can help you with a water-wise landscape design.

Computer Station

We have set up a public computer station at City Hall that you can use to access the South Bay Green Gardens website for landscape design ideas, interactive garden tours, customized plant lists, fact sheets, "how-to" videos and much, much more! You can use this tool to get water-wise design ideas for your landscaping project. Visit outstanding gardens, view landscape photos, and get detailed descriptions for more than 1,000 plants. The South Bay Green Gardens website is your online one-stop sustainable landscaping resource!

Come to City Hall at 17575 Peak Avenue and take advantage of this free resource. We are open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. While there, be sure to visit our Civic Center Plaza Demonstration Gardens which display drought tolerant, native California plants and compatible hardscape materials. View this guide (PDF) for more details.

We also have a lovely Water Conservation Garden on the grounds of the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center located at 17000 Monterey Road. This garden demonstrates different gardening practices, plants, irrigation methods and a variety of hardscapes that significantly save water. View this guide (PDF) for more details.
