Building & Fire Prevention

Responsibilities


The Building Division, with ICC certified staff, serves the residents and developers within the city by:
  • Answering general questions relating to construction, inspections, permits, etc.
  • Providing plan review services
  • Issuing building permits
  • Ensuring that all residential and commercial construction in the city meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of adopted codes
  • Checking for compliance with state mandates, building practices, manufacturer equipment and specific design
